How can I get to the theatre?
New Theatre Royal, Clasketgate, Lincoln, LN2 1JJ.
Be sure to set aside more than enough time for your journey to the theatre; if possible, walk or cycle at least part of the way. Please check your route if travelling by public transport as this may have recently changed whilst taking into consideration that Pelham Bridge is currently closed, meaning that other roads into the City may be affected.
How will my ticket work?
Your e-confirmation can either be displayed on your smartphone or printed at home to show on arrival. This will allow you to enter the theatre more easily, minimise the amount of time you may have to queue, and reduce contact with the front of house team. If you do not have an e-confirmation, please contact our box office*.
Will I need to wear a face covering?
In line with government guidance with regards to face covering indoors, we encourage that you continue to wear face coverings out of respect for fellow audience members and our staff team when coming into New Theatre Royal and especially when moving around the theatre.
What should I bring?
Please keep your belongings to a minimum and with you at all times. This will assist with bag checks, and we do not have any cloakroom facilities.
Will the bar be open?
Our bars will be open to purchase refreshments for one hour before the show begins and during the interval (subject to staff availability). It is possible to pre-order your interval drinks via the box office* to minimise contact with others. We ask that transactions are cashless and paperless.
What are the social distancing rules?
As of 19 July, we are able to open at full capacity so you will be sitting next to other people.
New Theatre Royal will continue to ask you to maintain a safe social distance where possible when queuing to take your seats and moving around the theatre. You may need to pass someone to take your seat in a row – to mitigate risk we recommend wearing your face covering while moving around the theatre.
What else is New Theatre Royal doing?
We will be offering enhanced cleaning and regularly disinfecting. Some routes may have changed in order to minimise your contact with others, so the helpful staff at the theatre will guide you.
Please use the hand sanitiser stations when you enter and exit the theatre.
What happens if I have Covid and can’t use my ticket?
We will be ensuring that you have maximum flexibility by allowing tickets to be exchanged to another performance or to a credit voucher up to 24 hours prior to the performance – so if someone in your party is confirmed as Covid positive or has symptoms, there is no need to worry.
