The theatre doors open from 1 hour before the start of each performance for ticket holders only. Auditorium doors open approximately 20-30 minutes before the start of the performance but this will vary with each production.

Entrance

Entrance

The main entrance to the theatre is located on Clasketgate, at the front of the building. We also have an accessible entrance on Kings Arms Yard to the left-hand side of the building. To use the accessible entrance, please notify us upon booking your ticket or in as advance as possible to ensure that this will be open.

Security

Please be aware that upon approaching the theatre for a show, you may be asked to display the contents of your bag by a member of the Front of House team or security. For your safety, we also have 24 hour CCTV throughout the building, as well as a trusted security team equipped with bodycams.

Our Access Lift

Due to our Grade II Victorian building's nature, we do not have a lift to other theatre levels. We do, however, have a small platform lift from the rear entrance of the stalls to the ground floor bar, for wheelchair users only.

Mobility Aids

Customers requiring the use of a mobility aid can store items in designated locations as directed by staff, but please be aware these areas are not manned. Where possible, these items will be stored near the customer, so they can leave safely. Speak to a member of staff when you arrive, and they will be pleased to assist.

Whilst we understand that for families a pram or buggy is an essential mode of transport, these items cannot be stored inside the theatre for safety reasons.

Booster Seats

Booster Seats

A very limited number of booster cushions are available for small children to have a better view (subject to availability on a first come first served basis). Please note, booster cushions are only available for patrons sitting in the stalls. We ask you to provide your own booster cushions where possible.

Personal Items

Personal Items

There is no cloakroom or storage facility, so customers are asked to bring only what they need to the theatre. Bags must be able to fit under your seat without causing an obstruction, and please be aware that luggage, large backpacks, holdalls and laptops are not permitted.

There are several toilets throughout the building, including 2 accessible toilets. Toilets are for audience use only and are not open to the public.

Our auditorium is set across 3 levels; Royal Stalls, Royal Circle and Royal Balcony. Please visit our seating plan page for seat dimensions and leg room measurements. We may be unable to move customers unable to be seated in those purchased and all tickets remain non-refundable.
